STATE GOVERNMENT FINANCE & ELECTIONS COMMITTEE MINUTES

Representative Michael V. Nelson, Chair of the Committee, called the virtual State Government Finance & Elections Committee meeting to order at 6:45 PM, March 10, 2021 pursuant to House rule 10.01. The meeting was conducted over Zoom and broadcast via House Public Information Services and Facebook Live.

Representative Carlson moved that the minutes from the committee meeting on March 9, 2021 be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Chair Nelson moved to reconsider the motion made on HF1585 on March 9th. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF1585 (Klevorn); Allowing school boards to give school credit for serving as a trainee election judge; requiring appointing authorities to recruit bilingual high school students to serve as trainee election judges; appropriating money.

Chair Nelson held HF1585 over for possible inclusion in a Committee Omnibus bill.

Representative Masin moved to adopt the Local Government Division Report on HF702. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE REPORT WAS ADOPTED.

Chair Nelson moved HF702 be referred to the General Register.

HF702 (Becker-Finn); Allowing cities and towns to require additional licensing for hotels.
