MINUTES

Representative Hansen, Chair of the Environment and Natural Resources Finance and Policy Committee, called the meeting to order at 10:00 A.M. on September 14th, 2021, pursuant to House rule 10.01. The meeting was conducted over Zoom and broadcast via House Public Information Services, Facebook Live, and YouTube live streaming.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Chair Hansen called the meeting to order at 10:00 A.M. A quorum was present.

A presentation was given presenting updates on the work of the University of Minnesota Prion Research and Outreach on Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD).

Dr. Peter Larsen, Director of UMN Prion Research and Outreach

An update was presented by the Department of Natural Resources on work regarding CWD.

Dave Benke, Director Resource Management Division, MN Pollution Control Agency
Chris Balzer, Co-Manager Farmed Cervidae Containment Project DNR

An update was presented by the MN Board of Animal Health regarding the Farmed Cervidae Program.
