MINUTES

Representative Nelson, Chair of the State Government Finance Committee, called the informational meeting to order at 8:00 AM, February 13, 2020 in Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Quam moved that the minutes from the committee meeting on May 16th, 2019 be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED

Chair Nelson moved HF3094 be referred to the Transportation Policy & Finance Division.

HF3094 (Tabke); Establishing a retired state service dog veterinary care reimbursement program; appropriating money.

Chair Nelson renewed the motion that HF3094 be referred to the Transportation Policy & Finance Division. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Chair Nelson moved HF2053 be rereferred to the Committee on Ways & Means, with a recommendation that it be referred to the General Register.

HF2053 (Cantrell); Creating the Office of Enterprise Sustainability.

Chair Nelson renewed the motion that HF2053 be rereferred to the Committee on Ways & Means, with a recommendation that it be referred to the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Freiberg moved HF3006 be referred to the Committee on Government Operations.

HF3006 (Freiberg); Appropriating money in the Help America Vote Act account to the secretary of state.

Representative Freiberg renewed the motion that HF3006 be referred to the Committee on Government Operations. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Chair Nelson moved HF1863 be re-referred to the Committee on Ways & Means, with a recommendation that it be referred to the General Register.

Chair Nelson moved Amendment H1863DE2. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

V. HF 1863 (Lillie) State employees will be paid in the event the legislature and governor fail to enact one or more state appropriations bills prior to June 30th of an odd numbered year (Limited testimony and discussion - bill was heard by the Division during the 2019 session.)

VI. HF 3094 (Tabke) Partial reimbursement of veterinarian costs for retired state service dogs (pending official introduction of bill on February 11, 2020) (No testimony or amendments will be considered. Bill will be procedurally re-referred to an appropriate policy/finance division for initial policy discussion.)
