MINUTES

Representative Mariani, Chair of the Public Safety and Criminal Justice Reform Finance and Policy Division, called the meeting to order at 12:45 P.M. on March 7th, 2019, in room 120 of the State Capitol Building. A quorum was not present.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Informational Hearing: HF 1254 (Considine) Medical assistance coverage modified for community-based care coordination to include tribes.

Representative Considine presented HF1254.

Representative Lucero moved to approve the minutes for the March 6th, 2019 meeting. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 377 (Dehn) Emergency responders training funding provided, and money appropriated.

Representative Dehn moved to amend HF377 with the A1 Amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

HF 474 (Stephenson) Enhanced community supervision of individuals on probation, parole, supervised release, or pretrial status who are struggling with mental illness and at a heightened risk to recidivate pilot project established; multidisciplinary caseload management team providing community-based mental health treatment alternatives to incarceration created; and money appropriated.

Representative Stephenson presented HF474.

Chair Mariani moved to amend HF474 with the A2 Amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Johnson moved to amend HF474, as amended, with the A1 Amendment. THE MOTION AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Chair Mariani laid over HF705 for possible inclusion in a public safety omnibus bill.

HF 1717 (Dehn) Juvenile life sentence without release amended.

Representative Dehn moved to amend HF1717 with the DE1 Amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Dehn presented HF1717.
