Representative Pat Garofalo, Chair of the Job Growth & Energy Affordability Policy & Finance Committee, called the meeting to order at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, January 11, 2017, in Room 10 of the State Office Building. A quorum was present.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Chris Zempel, Non-Partisan Fiscal Analyst, gave an overview of the Workforce Development Fund

The following individuals from RESOURCE, Inc. presented on results of the 2016-2017 Workforce Development Grant:
Kelly Matter, President and CEO; Gregory Eubanks, Program Participant

Representative Newberger assumed the gavel at 4:03 PM

The following individuals from Ujamaa Place presented on results of the 2016-2017 Workforce Development Grant:
Otis Zanders, Executive Director; Kedar Hickman, Program Manager

The following individuals from Comunidades Latinas Unidas en Servicio (CLUES) presented on results of the 2016-2017 Workforce Development Grant:
Ruby Lee, President and CEO; John Pacheco, member of the Board of Directors

The following individuals presented on the SciTechSperience results of the 2016-2017 Workforce Development Grant:
Margaret Anderson Kelliher, President and CEO, Minnesota High Tech Association; Kerri Bernard, Engineering Supervisor, Ultra Machining Company (UMC); Todd Colten, Chief Aerospace Engineer, Sentera; Matt Skelton, University of Minnesota-Twin Cities student, intern at Sentera
