MINUTES

Representative Nornes, Chair of the Higher Education and Career Readiness Policy and Finance Committee, called the meeting to order at 3:06 PM on March 28, 2018 in Hearing Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Heintzeman moved the minutes of March 27, 2018 be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF3852 (Zerwas) State grant provisions amended.

Representative Nornes moved to reconsider HF3852. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Nornes laid over HF3852 for possible inclusion in an omnibus bill or for further action at a later time.

HF3899 (Barr) University of Minnesota resident undergraduate tuition relief provided.

Representative Nornes moved to reconsider HF3899, as amended. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Nornes laid over HF3899 for possible inclusion in an omnibus bill or for further action at a later time.

HF3638 (Nornes) Minnesota State Colleges and Universities Board of Trustees funding provided, and money appropriated.

Representative Nornes moved to reconsider HF3638. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Nornes laid over HF3638 for possible inclusion in an omnibus bill or for further action at a later time.

HF3817 (Knoblach) Minnesota State Colleges and Universities required to transfer its central office to the campus of a college or university governed by the board.

Representative Nornes moved HF3817 be laid over for possible inclusion in an omnibus bill or for further consideration at a later time.

Representative Knoblach testified on HF3817.

Representative Pelowski moved A18-0718 amendment.

Representative Pelowski withdrew A18-0718 amendment.

Representative Nornes moved HF3415 to be laid over for possible inclusion in an omnibus bill or for further consideration at a later time.

Representative Nornes moved HF3415A2 amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.
