MINUTES

Representative Greg Davids, Chairman of the Taxes Committee, began the meeting at 10:15 AM on April 5, 2016 in Room 200 of the State Office Building. A quorum was not present.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Nick Zerwas testified to House File 2564.


Chair Davids officially called the meeting to order at 10:21 AM. A quorum was present.


Chair Davids moved House File 2564 to be laid over for possible inclusion in the Taxes Omnibus Bill.

Chair Davids moved the H2564DE1 Amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Buck McAlpin, Director of Government Affairs for North Memorial Health Care and Ambulance Service, testified to House File 2564 as amended.

Chair Davids renewed his motion and moved House File 2564 as amended to be laid over for possible inclusion in the Taxes Omnibus bill.


Chair Davids moved House File 3725 to be laid over for possible inclusion in the Taxes Omnibus Bill.

Chair Davids moved the H3725A2 Amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Bob Vogel testified to House File 3725 as amended.

Tom Terry, City Administrator of Elko New Market, testified to House File 3725 as amended.

Mark Nagel, Assistant City Administrator of Elko New Market, testified to House File 3725 as amended.

Chair Davids renewed his motion and moved House File 3725 as amended to be laid over for possible inclusion in the Taxes Omnibus bill.


Chair Davids moved House File 3205 to be laid over for possible inclusion in the Taxes Omnibus Bill.

Chair Davids moved the H3205A1 Amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Dennis Smith testified to House File 3205 as amended.

Steve Marx, President of Royal Vending, testified to House File 3205 as amended.

Mark Young, President of Apple Automatic Food Service, testified to House File 3205 as amended.

Chair Davids renewed his motion and moved House File 3205 as amended to be laid over for possible inclusion in the Taxes Omnibus bill.


Representative Jen Loon moved House File 2989 to be laid over for possible inclusion in the Taxes Omnibus Bill.

Representative Loon testified to House File 2989.


Representative Erik Simonson moved the minutes of March 31, 2016 be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.


Zach Robbins, Attorney at Winthrop and Weinstine, testified to House File 2989.

Jon Marshalla, COO of No Sweat, testified to House File 2989.

Cynthia Templin, House Fiscal Analyst, testified to House File 2989.

Chair Davids renewed his motion and moved House File 2989 to be laid over for possible inclusion in the Taxes Omnibus bill.
