LEGACY FUNDING FINANCE COMMITTEE

MINUTES

Representative Dean Urdahl, Chair of the Legacy Funding Finance Committee, began the second meeting at 12:48 P.M. on Monday, February 2, 2015 in the Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building.

The meeting was called to order at 1:07 P.M. A Quorum was present.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Wills moved to approve the minutes of January 26, 2015. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

David Kelliher of the Minnesota Historical Society concluded the Minnesota History Coalition’s presentation of their work and overview of their Legacy fund request.

Sue Gens of the Minnesota State Arts Board presented the board’s Legacy fund request, and related how Legacy funds have been used in the past to fund arts and cultural heritage projects throughout Minnesota.

Brenda Byron of the Prairie Lakes Regional Arts Council testified about how Legacy funds, allocated through the Minnesota Arts Board, have been used by the Council in their area.

Bob Meier and Erica Rivers of the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources presented their Legacy fund request, and testified about the past use of Legacy funds in encouraging outdoor exploration, as well as building and maintaining parks and trails.

The meeting was adjourned at 2:25 P.M.
