MINUTES

Representative Pat Garofalo, Chair of the Job Growth & Energy Affordability Policy & Finance Committee, called the meeting to order at 3:02 P.M. on Thursday, March 3, 2016, in Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Garofalo called the meeting to order at 3:02 p.m. A quorum was present.

HF694 (Mahoney) St. Paul Port Authority governing provisions modified.

Representative Mahoney; Lorrie Louder, St. Paul Port Authority; testified on HF694.

Representative Mahoney moved that HF694 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

SF209 (Sanders) Manufactured home space requirements modified.

Representative Garofalo moved the DE1 Amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Garofalo; Katie Clark-Sieben, Commissioner of the Department of Employment of Economic Development; Jennifer Schaubach, President of the Minnesota AFL-CIO; Cam Winton, Minnesota Chamber of Commerce; Cliff Toby, United Steelworkers; Rory Aimonetti, United Steelworkers; Mike Hickey, National Federation of Independent Businesses; Brian Carr, Minnesota Retailers Association; all gave testimony on the DE1 Amendment.

Representative Mahoney moved the A1 Amendment. Representative Hortman requested a roll call. The results were as follows:

Representative Metsa moved the A4 Amendment. THE MOTION FAILED.

Representative Garofalo moved that SF209, as amended, be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Ways and Means Committee. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF2032 (Garofalo) State public power authority feasibility study required, and money appropriated.

Representative Garofalo moved the DE1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Garofalo testified on HF2032, as amended.

Representative Garofalo moved that HF2032, as amended, be recommended to pass and be-referred to the Ways and Means Committee. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

The meeting was adjourned at 5:00 P.M.
