MINUTES

Representative Mack, Chair of the Health and Human Services Reform committee, called the meeting to order at 2:55 PM on March 18th, 2015, in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Mack called the meeting to order at 2:55 PM. A quorum was present.

Representative Backer moved to approve the minutes from March 17th 2015. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Pierson moved that HF1341 be re-referred to the Committee on Health and Human Services Finance.

Representative Pierson moved to adopt the A15-0257 amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Testifying on behalf of HF1341 were Alan Parnes, Chair, Commission of Deaf, DeafBlind and Hard of Hearing, Barry Segal, DeafBlind Advocate, Dannell Shu, and Mary Hartnett, Executive Director, Commission of Deaf, DeafBlind and Hard of Hearing Minnesotans.

Representative Pierson renewed his motion that HF1341, as amended, be re-referred to the Committee on Health and Human Services Finance. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Mack moved that HF780 be re-referred to the Committee on Job Growth and Energy Affordability Policy and Finance.

Representative Mack moved to adopt the DE1 amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Testifying on behalf of HF780 was Dan Endreson, Public Policy Manager, National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Midwest Chamber.

Representative Mack renewed her motion that HF780, as amended, be re-referred to the Committee on Job Growth and Energy Affordability Policy and Finance. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Mack moved that HF1009 be re-referred to the Committee on Health and Human Services Finance.

Representative Mack moved to adopt A1 amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Testifying on behalf of HF1009 were Chelsea Pearsall, Nurse-Family Partnership, and Mary Jo O’Brien, Supporting Hands, Nurse-Family Partnership.

Representative Mack renewed her motion that HF1009, as amended, be re-referred to the Committee on Health and Human Services Finance. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Mack moved that HF783 be sent to the General Register.

Testifying on behalf of HF783 were Ethan Vogel, Legislative Representative, AFSCME Council 5, and Patricia Siebert, Minnesota Disability Law Center.

Representative Mack renewed her motion that HF783 be sent to the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Mack moved that HF1790 be re-referred to the Committee on Health and Human Services Finance.

Representative Mack moved that HF976 be re-referred to the Committee on Job Growth and Energy Affordability Policy and Finance.

Testifying on behalf of HF976 were Eric Nelson, People Incorporated Mental Health Services, Ani Simons, Mental Health Association of Minnesota, Ben Ashley-Wurtmann, Mental Health Association of Minnesota.

Representative Mack renewed her motion that HF976 be re-referred to the Committee on Job Growth and Energy Affordability Policy and Finance. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Mack moved that HF1350 be re-referred to the Committee on Health and Human Services Finance.

Testifying on behalf of HF1350 was Sue Abderholden, Executive Director, NAMI Minnesota.

Representative Mack renewed her motion that HF1350 be re-referred to the Committee on Health and Human Services. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
