HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES FINANCE COMMITTEE
MINUTES

Representative Dean, Chair of the Health and Human Services Finance Committee, called the meeting to order at 12:50pm on February 24th, 2015, in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Dean called the meeting to order at 12:50pm, a quorum was present.

Representative McDonald moved approval of the February 18th, 2015 minutes. The motion PREVAILED. The minutes were APPROVED.

Representative Zerwas moved that HF 818 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Health and Human Services Omnibus bill.

Representative Zerwas; Justin Bell, Government Relations Director, American Heart Association; Joan Somes, RN, MSN, PhD, CEN, Chair Minnesota Emergency Nurses Association; and Dr. Albert Tsai, MN Department of Health, all presented and testified on HF 818.

Representative Zerwas renewed his motion that HF 818 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Health and Human Services Omnibus bill.

Representative Zerwas moved that HF 973 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Health and Human Services Omnibus bill.

Representative Zerwas; Judy Lysne, President & CEO, Lifeworks Services Inc.;
Scott Strohman, Lifeworks Services Inc.; Julie Manworren, President & CEO, Living Well Disability Services; Patsy Johnson, Living Well Disability Services; Mark Hughes and Heidi Hamilton, Legislative Lead, MN Department of Human Services, all presented and testified on HF 973.

Representative Liebling moved that HF 973 be re-referred to the Committee on Health and Human Services Reform.

Representative Zerwas renews the motion that HF 973 be re-referred to the Committee on Health and Human Services Reform. The motion PREVAILED.

Representative McDonald moved that HF 974 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Health and Human Services Omnibus bill.

Representative McDonald; Susan S. Carlson, Former First Lady of Minnesota; Katie Seaver, Alumni, CRAFT Project, Rochester; Eileen Hendrickson, Client, CRAFT Project, Rochester;
Christopher DeLaForest, St. Louis County; Peter Lorentz, MOFAS and Kari Wiessner, MOFAS; all presented and testified on HF 974.

Representative McDonald moved the following oral amendment: Line 1.19, delete “syndrome” and insert “spectrum”. Instructions to the Revisor to amend accordingly. The motion PREVAILED.

Representative McDonald moved that HF 974 as amended, be laid over for possible inclusion in the Health and Human Services Omnibus bill.




The meeting was adjourned at 2:18pm.
