MINUTES

Representative Sanders, Chair of the Government Operations and Election Policy, called the meeting to order at 10:17 AM on March 16, 2016 in the Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Anderson moved to approve the minutes from March 10, 2016.

Chair Sanders moved to amend HF2572 (See attached amendment H2572A1)

THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED

Chair Sanders moved to re-refer HF2572, as amended, to the Committee on Public Safety Policy and Finance.

THE MOTION PREVAILED

HF2718 (Zerwas) Elk River; public utilities commission membership increase permitted.

The following testified on HF2718:
Nick Zerwas – State Representative
Troy Adams – Elk River Municipal Utilities General Manager

Chair Sanders moved to place HF2718 on the General Register.

THE MOTION PREVAILED


HF2820 (Fenton) Washington County Housing and Redevelopment Authority laws amended, and Washington County Community Development Agency created.

The following testified on HF2820:
Kelly Fenton – State Representative
Fran Miron – Washington County Commissioner
Barbara Dacy – Washington County HRA Executive Director

Representative Fenton moved to place HF2820 on the General Register.

THE MOTION PREVAILED

Vice Chair Pugh assumed the gavel at 10:37 AM.

The committee heard an informational presentation on:

HF2735 (Sanders) Presidential primary required, and technical changes made.
