MINUTES

Representative Tim O’Driscoll, Vice Chair of the Commerce and Regulatory Reform Committee, called the meeting to order at 2:49 PM on March 24, 2015 in the Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building. A quorum was present.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Davids moved to approve the minutes from the March 18, 2015 meeting. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF1647 (Hilstrom)
Patient allowed to enjoin collection actions taken by a nonprofit hospital if the hospital has failed to provide a financial assistance policy.

Representative O’Driscoll moved that HF1647 be re-referred to the Civil Law Committee.

Representative O’Driscoll moved the 1647DE1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Individuals permitted to contract with insurance producer to advocate on the individual's behalf with respect to health coverage with an insurance company, and payment of commissions by issuers of qualified health plans regulated.

Chair Hoppe moved to amend the H1979A1 amendment as follows: Page 2, delete line 6. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE AMENDMENT TO THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.
