MINUTES

Representative Mikael Sundin, Vice-Chair of the Labor, Workplace, and Regulated Industries Committee, called the meeting to order at 8:19 A.M. on March 7, 2013, in the Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Benson moved that the minutes of March 6, 2013 be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 748 (Simon) Prompt payment of wages requirements and penalties modified.

Representative Sundin moved HF 748.

Representative Sundin moved the H0748A2 amendment.

Representative Sundin moved to orally amend the HF0748A2 amendment as follows:

Line 1.8, after "and" insert 'and insert "but remain"'. THE AMENDMENT TO THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Sundin moved the HF0748A2 amendment, as amended. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Sundin moved that HF 748 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Civil Law. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 602 (Atkins) Additional unemployment benefit eligibility modified.

Representative Sundin moved to reconsider the passage of HF 602, as amended. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Sundin moved that HF 602, as amended, be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Jobs and Economic Development Finance and Policy. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 690 (Mahoney) Reliance on criminal history for employment purposes limited, and remedies provided.

Representative Sundin moved HF 690.

Representative Sundin moved the H0690A5 amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

HF 572 (Nelson) Commissioner of labor and industry allowed to issue compliance orders for violations of misrepresentations of employment relationships.

Representative Nelson moved HF 572.
