MINUTES

Representative Mariani, Chair of Committee on Education Policy, called the meeting to order at 4:12 P.M. on March 11, 2013 in the Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Rep. Marquart moved that the minutes of February 28, 2013 be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED

Rep. Davnie moved that the minutes of March 5, 2013 be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED

Rep. S. Erickson moved that the minutes of March 7, 2013 be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED

Rep. Nornes moved that the minutes of March 8, 2013 be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED

Rep. Mariani moved H.F. 1151 and recommended that it be laid over for possible inclusion in an omnibus bill.

Rep. Mariani presented H.F. 1151 (Mariani); Early childhood through grade 12 education policies modified including general education, education excellence, special programs, libraries, and early childhood education.

Vice Chair Brynaert assumed the gavel at 4:21 P.M.

Chair Mariani re-assumed the gavel at 4:32 P.M.

Rep. Davnie moved to withdraw his proposed amendment.

Chair Mariani laid over the bill.

Rep. Mariani moved that H.F. 562 be passed and recommended to be referred to Health and Human Services Finance.

Rep. Abeler presented H.F. 562 (Abeler); Medical Assistance coverage provided for services provided by a licensed professional counselor.

Rep. Mariani moved to amend H.F. 562 (see attached amendment H0562DE1)

Rep. Mariani incorporates the following oral amendment into amendment H0562DE1:

Page 1, Line 1.8, after "Social Work,", insert "and"

The committee voted on the amendment, as amended. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT IS ADOPTED.

Rep. Mariani renewed the motion that H.F. 562, as amended be passed and recommended to be referred to Health and Human Services Finance. THE MOTION PREVAILED

Rep. Urdahl moved that H.F. 984 be laid over and recommended for possible inclusion in an omnibus bill.

Rep. Urdahl presented H.F. 734 (Urdahl); Career and rechnical education advisory task force established for improving student outcomes in grades 11 to 14

Rep. Urdahl renews his motion that H.F. 734 be passed and referred to the Committee on Government Operation. THE MOTION PREVAILED
