MINUTES

Representative Holberg, Chair of the Ways and Means Committee, called the meeting to order at 6:15 P.M. on April 4, 2011, in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Holberg officially called the meeting to order at 6:16 P.M. A quorum was present.

Representative Hamilton moved to approve the minutes from the committee meeting on March 30, 2011. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

SF1047 (Parry): Omnibus state government, military affairs and veterans affairs appropriations; Minnesota Sunset Act.

Representative Lanning moved SF 1047 be recommended to pass and be placed on the General Register.

Representative Lanning moved to delete the language in SF 1047 and insert the language of HF 577 Second Engrossment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Lanning moved the S1047A3 Amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Kiffmeyer moved the S1047A1 Amendment. Representative Kahn requested a roll call vote.

The following thirteen members voted Nay:
CARLSON, BRYNAERT, CHAMPION, EKEN, GREILING, HORNSTEIN, HUNTLEY, KAHN, LENCZEWSKI, PELOWSKI, RUKAVINA, SLAWIK, WAGENIUS

The following eighteen members voted Yea:
HOLBERG, DOWNEY, ANDERSON, B., ANDERSON, S., BEARD, BUESGENS, DAVIDS, GAROFALO, GUNTHER, HACKBARTH, HAMILTON, HOWES, KIFFMEYER, LANNING, MCNAMARA, NORNES, SMITH, WESTROM

Not present:
ABELER

On a vote of 18 Yeas and 13 Nays, THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Kahn moved the S1047A2 Amendment. THE MOTION DID NOT PREVAIL. THE AMENDMENT WAS NOT ADOPTED.

Representative Lanning moved SF 1047, as amended, be recommended to pass and be placed on the General Register. Representative Carlson requested a roll call vote.

The following eleven members voted Nay:
CARLSON, BRYNAERT, CHAMPION, EKEN, GREILING, HORNSTEIN, KAHN, LENCZEWSKI, PELOWSKI, SLAWIK, WAGENIUS

The following eighteen members voted Yea:

Representative Holberg moved the KN-RESA13 Amendment to KN-RES01-3. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Carlson moved the KN-RES14 Amendment to KN-RES01-3.

Representative Carlson withdrew the KN-RES14 Amendment.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:37 P.M.
