MINUTES

Representative Beard, Chair of the Transportation Policy and Finance Committee, called the meeting to order at 6:07 P.M. on Wednesday, March 7, 2012, in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Representative Benson moved that the minutes from the committee meeting on March 5, 2012, be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF2321 (Scalze) Metropolitan transit service opt-outs authorized.

Representative Morrow moved HF2321.

Representative Morrow the H2321A1 amendment.

Representative Morrow moved to incorporate the H2321A1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Morrow moved the H2321A2 amendment.

Representative Morrow moved to incorporate the H2321A2 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Scalze presented HF2321, as amended.

Testifiers: James Clark, Suburban Transit Association, and
Judd Schetnan, Government Affairs Director, Metropolitan Council.

HF2321 was laid over, as amended.

HF2560 (Scott) Metropolitan Council proportional distribution required for any transit reductions.

Representative Shimanski moved HF2560.

Representative Shimanski moved an oral amendment to HF2560 as follows:
Page 1, line 9, delete "metropolitan transit" and insert "Metro Transit"
Page 1, line 10, delete "transit" and insert "Metro Transit"

Representative Shimanski moved to incorporate the oral amendment to HF2560. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Scott presented HF2560, as amended.

Testifiers: Kate Garwood, Anoka County, and
Judd Schetnan, Government Affairs Director, Metropolitan Council.

HF2560 was laid over.

Representative Buesgens assumed the gavel at 6:52 P.M.

HF2696 (Beard) Metropolitan Council; formula changed for assistance to cities and towns with replacement transit service.

Representative Beard moved HF2696.

Representative Beard moved the H2696DE1 amendment.

Representative Beard moved to incorporate the H2696DE1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.
