MINUTES

Representative Cornish, Chair of the Public Safety and Crime Prevention Policy and Finance Committee, called the fifty-second meeting to order at 10:17 a.m. on Tuesday, March 13, 2012, in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

HF2706 (Kriesel) Automobile theft and financial crime prevention grant awards expanded and funds transferred.

The committee heard testimony on HF2706.

Representative Leidiger moved that the minutes of March 8, 2012, be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Kriesel moved that HF2706 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Commerce and Regulatory Reform Committee.

Representative Kriesel renewed his motion that HF2706 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Commerce and Regulatory Reform Committee. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF2585 (Kriesel) Statewide Radio Board authority expanded and updated to include the latest emergency communication technologies, Statewide Radio Board authorized to elect to become a statewide emergency communication board, tribal governments included in regional radio board structure, and comprehensive authority provided under board to address all emergency communications.

Representative Kriesel moved that HF2585 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Commerce and Regulatory Reform Committee.

Representative Kriesel renewed his motion that HF2585 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Commerce and Regulatory Reform Committee. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF2723 (Woodard) Criminal records expungement for individuals who have received stays of adjudication or diversion authorized, expungements without petitions authorized in cases where charges were dismissed against a person upon prosecutorial approval and with victim notification, persons petitioning for expungement required to provide a copy of the criminal complaint or police report, and opening of expunged records without a court hearing authorized in limited circumstances.

Representative Woodard moved that HF2723 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Judiciary Policy and Finance Committee.

HF2744 (Cornish) Predatory offender community notification law clarified by adding cross-references.

Chairman Cornish moved that HF2744 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Health and Human Services Reform Committee.
