MINUTES

Representative Cornish, Chair of the Public Safety and Crime Prevention Policy and Finance Committee, called the fourteenth meeting to order at 10:16 a.m. on Wednesday, February 16, 2011, in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Hilty moved that the minutes of February 15, 2011, be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF0370 (Smith) Youth intervention program grants modified.

Representative Smith moved that HF0370 be laid over for possible inclusion in an omnibus bill.

The committee heard testimony on HF0370.

HF0370 will be laid over for possible inclusion in an omnibus bill.

HF0387 (Kelly) Counties allowed to participate in driver's license reinstatement diversion pilot program, and diversion pilot program extended.

Representative Kelly moved that HF0387 be passed and re-referred to the Transportation Policy and Finance Committee.

Representative Kelly renewed his motion that HF0387 be passed and re-referred to the Transportation Policy and Finance Committee. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Staff and affiliates from the three correctional delivery systems gave overviews of the agencies and the probation and supervised release program in Minnesota, and answered questions of the committee.
