HEALTH & HUMAN SERVICES REFORM COMMITTEE
MINUTES

Representative Gottwalt, Chair of the Health & Human Services Reform Committee, called the meeting to order at 2:32 P.M. on January 19, 2011, in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll. A quorum was not present

Representative Gottwalt officially called the meeting to order at 2:42. A quorum was present.
Introduction of Commissioner Lucinda Jesson, MN Department of Human Services.
Representative Quam moved approval of the minutes of January 11, 2010. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE MINUTES WERE ADOPTED.
Introduction of Commissioner Dr. Edward Ehlinger, MN Department of Health
HF8 (Gottwalt) Healthy Minnesota contribution program established.
Representative Mack assumed the gavel at 2:55 P.M.
Representative Gottwalt moved that HF8 be recommended to pass and be referred to the Committee on Commerce and Regulatory Affairs.
Representative Gottwalt moved the H0008A21 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.
Representative Hosch moved the H008A1-1 amendment. A roll call was requested by Representative Liebling. The results were as follows

AYES: Fritz, Patti, Hosch, Larry, Huntley, Thomas , Liebling, Tina, Loffler, Diane, Moran, Rena, Murphy, Erin, Norton, Kim, Peterson, Sandra

Representative Loeffler moved the H0008A15 amendment and requested a roll call. The results were as follows:

John Tyler, Minnesota Association of Health Underwriters, Dr. Peter Dehnel, MN Physician Patient Alliance, Sue Abderholden, National Alliance of Mental Illness, Mary Krinkie, Minnesota Hospital Association, Matt Schafer, American Cancer Society, and Tom Hesse and Lisa Bodine, MN Chamber of Commerce testified on HF8.
Representative Gottwalt renewed his motion that HF8, as amended, be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Committee on Commerce and Regulatory Affairs. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

The meeting was adjourned at 4:43 P.M.
