GOVERNMENT OPERATIONS AND ELECTIONS COMMITTEE

MINUTES

Representative Peppin, Chair of the Government Operations and Elections Committee, called the fifty fourth meeting to order at 6:05 p.m. on Wednesday, March 7, 2012, in Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Quam moved that the minutes of March 6, 2012 be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF1629 (Howes) Explore Minnesota Tourism Council modified.

Chair Peppin moved that HF1629 be recommended to pass and sent to the General Register.

The committee heard testimony on HF1629.

Chair Peppin renewed her motion that HF1629 be recommended to pass and sent to the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Murray assumed the gavel at 6:09 p.m.

HF2684 (Peppin) Lobbying principal reports modified.

Chair Peppin moved that HF2684 be recommended to pass and sent to the General Register.

Chair Peppin moved the H2684DE1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED, AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

The committee heard testimony on HF2684, as amended.

Representative Murray moved that HF2171 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Civil Law Committee.

Representative Winkler moved to orally amend HF2171 as follows:
Page 11, line 4 delete "including"
Page 11, line 5 delete "any successor publications,"

THE MOTION PREVAILED, AND THE ORAL AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Chair Peppin moved to orally amend HF2171 as follows:
Page 29, delete lines 29.1-29.3

THE MOTION PREVAILED, AND THE ORAL AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Murray moved that HF1979, as amended, be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Health and Human Services Finance Committee.

Chair Peppin moved the H1979A1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED, AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.
