GOVERNMENT OPERATIONS AND ELECTIONS COMMITTEE

MINUTES

Representative Peppin, Chair of the Government Operations and Elections Committee, called the fiftieth meeting to order at 10:18 a.m. on Tuesday, February 28, 2012, in Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Representative O’Driscoll moved that the minutes of February 23, 2012 be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF2084 (Stensrud) Inverse condemnation authorized by a mixed municipal solid waste services business when a governmental entity occupies the market.

Chair Peppin moved that HF2084 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Civil Law Committee.

Chair Peppin moved the H2084A2 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED, AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

The committee heard testimony on HF2084, as amended.

HF2455 (Gruenhagen) Montgomery authorized to convey property for less than market value.

Representative Murray moved that HF2455 be recommended to pass and sent to the General Register.

The committee heard testimony on HF2455.

Representative Murray renewed his motion that HF2455 be recommended to pass and sent to the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

(HF2545 Sanders) A bill for an act relating to elections.

Representative Sanders moved that HF2545 be recommended to pass and sent to the General Register.

Representative Sanders moved the H2545A1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED, AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

The committee heard testimony on HF2545, as amended.

HF1977 (Drazkowski) Executive branch employee representative negotiations authorized to avoid layoffs.

Representative Murray moved that HF1977 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the State Government Finance Committee.

Representative Murray moved the H1977A1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED, AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

The committee heard testimony on HF1977, as amended.
