EDUCATION REFORM

MINUTES

The meeting was unofficially called to order at 8:16 AM on March 1, 2012. Representative Myhra introduced HF 2127.

A quorum was present and Representative Erickson, Chair of the Education Reform Committee, called the meeting to order at 8:20 AM on March 1, 2012, in the Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Kieffer moved that the minutes from the committee meeting on February 28, 2012, be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE MINUTES WERE APPROVED.

Chair Erickson moved HF 2127. Chair Erickson moved the H2127A6 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

HF 2127 (Myhra) Online learning parameters modified, graduation requirements modified, and digital learning provided.

Representative Myhra explained the bill and stood for questions.

The committee heard testimony on the bill.

Representative Greiling moved to change the motion to refer the bill to the Committee on Education Finance and requested a roll call.

Representatiev Greiling withdrew her motion. Chair Erickson changed the motion to refer the bill to the Committee on Education Finance.

Chair Erickson renewed the motion to refer the bill, as amended, to the Committee on Education Finance. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Doepke assumed the gavel at 9:15 AM.

HF 1510 (Erickson) Alternative compensation revenue made available to school principals and assistant principals.

Chair Erickson moved HF 1510. Chair Erickson moved the H1510DE1 amendment. A technical amendment was incorporated. The amendment is as follows:

Page 7, line 7.5, Delete 122A452 and replace with 122A4152

THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE XXXXDE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

The committee heard testimony on the bill.
