MINUTES

A quorum was present and Representative Erickson, Chair of the Education Reform Committee, called the meeting to order at 8:15 AM on January 31, 2012, in the Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

SF 1213 (Kelly) Adult education performance tracking system modifications.

Chair Erickson moved that SF 1213 be recommended to pass and sent to the general register. Chair Erickson moved the S1213A1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Tim Kelly presented the bill and stood for questions.

The committee heard testimony about the bill.

Chair Erickson renewed the motion that SF 1213 be recommended to pass and sent to the general register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 1870 (Petersen, B.) School districts authorized to base leave of absence and discharge decisions on teacher evaluation outcomes.

Representative Petersen, B. moved that HF 1870 be recommended to pass and be referred to the Committee on Education Finance. Representative Petersen, B, moved the H1870DE4 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Petersen, B. presented the bill and stood for questions.
