MINUTES

Representative Garofalo, Chair of the Education Finance Committee, called the meeting to order at 12:32 p.m. on March 15, 2012, in Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

HF2540 (Barrett) School district state aid new source created for districts with below average revenue.

Representative Garofalo moved HF2540 be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the committee on Ways and Means.

Representative Barrett presented HF2540.

Representative Garofalo laid over HF2450 for possible inclusion in an omnibus bill.

HF2580 (Loon) Parents empowered to request school district intervention in a persistently low-performing school.

Representative Loon moved HF2580 be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the committee on Ways and Means.

Representative Loon presented HF2580.

Representative Loon renewed her motion that HF2580 be recommended to pass, as amended, and be re-referred to the committee on Ways and Means.

HF2792 (Doepke) Independent School District No. 284, Wayzata, lease levy authorized for administrative space.

Representative Garofalo moved HF2792 be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the committee on Taxes.

Representative Doepke presented HF2792.

Representative Anderson assumed the gavel at 2:12 p.m.

Representative Anderson laid over HF2792 for possible inclusion in an omnibus bill.

Representative Garofalo adjourned the meeting at 6:35 p.m.
