MINUTES

Representative Garofalo, Chair of the Education Finance Committee, called the meeting to order at 12:37 p.m. on March 17, 2011, in Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Erickson moved that the minutes of March 16, 2011 be adopted.
THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF1078 (Garofalo) Perpich Center for Arts Education status changed from a state agency to a charter school.

Representative Garofalo moved HF1078 be laid over for possible inclusion in an omnibus education finance bill.

Representative Garofalo renewed his motion that HF1078 be laid over for inclusion in a possible omnibus education finance bill.

HF1056 (Davnie) Targeted family outreach activities grant program created and money appropriated.

Representative Davnie moved HF1056 be laid over for possible inclusion in an omnibus education finance bill.

Representative Davnie presented HF1056.

Representative Garofalo recessed the committee to the call of the chair at 2:18 p.m.

Representative Garofalo called the committee back to order at 4:00 p.m.

HF1093 (Garofalo) School district or charter school required to spend at least 70 percent of its total general operating expenditures on direct classroom expenditures.

Representative Garofalo moved HF1093 be laid over for possible inclusion in an omnibus education finance bill.

Representative Erickson moved HF947 be laid over for possible inclusion in an omnibus education finance bill.

Representative Erickson moved the H0947DE2 amendment to HF947.
THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Garofalo assumed the gavel at 4:32 p.m.

Representative Downey moved HF558 be laid over for possible inclusion in an omnibus education finance bill.

Representative Downey moved the H0558A3 amendment to HF558.
THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.
