MINUTES

Representative Hoppe, Chair of the Commerce and Regulatory Reform Committee, called the meeting to order at 7:07 p.m. on April 2, 2012, in Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Daudt moved to approve the minutes for March 22, 2012. The motion prevailed.

Representative Hoppe moved HF1485.

Representative Kriesel introduced HF1485.

Representative Hoppe moved amendment H1485DE3.

Sarah Psick (MN Licensed Beverage Association) testified.

Dan O’Gara from O’Gara’s Bar testified.

Dan McElroy (CEO of Hospitality MN) testified.

King Wilson (Executive Director of Allied Charities of MN) testified.

Representative Hoppe renewed his motion on amendment H1485DE3. The motion prevailed. The amendment was adopted.

Representative Hoppe renewed his motion that HF1485 be recommended to pass as amended and re-referred to the Committee on Rules. The motion prevailed.

Representative Lanning introduced HF2810.

Representative Hoppe moved amendment H2810DE7 and incorporated amendment H2810A8 into the H2810DE7 amendment.

Steve Poppen (Chief financial officer for the Vikings) testified.

Representative Atkins moved amendment H2810A12. The motion prevailed. The amendment was adopted.

Mayor R.T. Rybak of Minneapolis testified.

Susan Segal, Minneapolis City Attorney testified.

Representative Morrow testified.

Representative Hoppe renewed his motion that HF2810 be recommended to pass as amended and re-referred to the Committee on Rules. The motion prevailed.

The chair adjourned the meeting at 9:02 pm.
