MINUTES

Representative Hoppe, Chair of the Commerce and Regulatory Reform Committee, called the meeting to order at 2:32p.m., on March 1, 2011, in the basement hearing room of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Representative Hoppe moved that HF 460 be recommended to pass and referred to the General Register.

Representative Peppin introduced HF 460.

Tom Bjerstedt, President of Builders Association testified.

Karen Linner, Director of Codes and Research from the Builders Association testified.

Mark Brunner, President of Manufactured Housing Association testified.

Chip Halbach from MN Housing Partnership testified.

Paul Eger from MN Association of Realtors testified.

Jerry Rosendahl, MN State Fire Marshall testified.

Russell Sanders from National Fire Protection Association from testified.

Marty Sheerer, Edina Fire Chief and President of MN State Fire Chiefs Association testified

Luke Stemmer, St. Louis Park Fire Chief and Chair of MSFCA Code Committee testified.

Pam Perry, Executive Vice President of Builders Association of MN testified.

Tom Joachim from Association of MN Building Officials testified.

Lisa Frenette from MN Builders Association testified.

Representative Hoppe renewed his motion that HF 460 be recommended to pass and referred to the General Register. The motion prevailed.

Representative Lille introduced HF571 and moved that it be recommended to pass and referred to the General Register.

Bill Lentsch, Brenda Deutsch, and Glenn Hammond from Delta testified.

Representative Lillie renewed his motion that HF571 be recommended to pass and referred to the General Register. The motion prevailed.

Representative Hoppe handed the gavel to Representative Sanders at 3:48:49.

Representative Hoppe introduced HF657 .

Representative moved amendment H0657A6. The motion prevailed. The amendment was adopted.

Representative Crawford moved to approve the minutes from February 23, 2011. The motion prevailed.
