Representative Paul Thissen, Chair of the Health Care and Human Services Policy and Oversight Committee, called the meeting to order at 1:05 P.M. on Tuesday, March 3, 2010 in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

HF2002 (Dean) General assistance medical care, medical assistance, and MinnesotaCare billing and collections direction provided.

Representative Brod moved that HF2002 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Finance.

Representative Thissen moved to amend HF2002 as follows:

Page 1, line 12, delete "2010" and insert "2011"
Page 1, line 13, delete "2009" and insert "2010"

Representative Brod renewed her motion that HF2002, as amended, be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Finance. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Gottwalt moved that the minutes of March 2, 2010 be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF3047 (Huntley) Office of Health Care Inspector General created, and commissioner of human services duties modified.

Representative Huntley moved that HF3047 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Finance.

Representative Huntley presented HF3047.

Representative Huntley renewed his motion that HF3047 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Finance. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Thissen moved that HF3055 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on State and Local Government Operations Reform, Technology and Elections.

Representative Brod moved that HF2901 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Commerce and Labor.

Representative Brod moved the H2901A1 amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

On a vote of 12 AYES and 5 NAYS THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF3245 (Atkins) Interstate health insurance choice created.

Representative Thissen moved that HF3245 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Commerce and Labor

Representative Atkins presented the bill.

Representative Huntley renewed the motion that HF3245 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Commerce and Labor. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF3036 (Gottwalt) MinnesotaCare defined contribution program established.

Representative Gottwalt moved that HF3036 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Finance.

Representative Gottwalt moved the H3036A1 amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.
