Representative Paul Thissen, Chair of the Health Care and Human Services Policy and Oversight Committee, called the meeting to order at 2:50 P.M. on Wednesday, February 4, 2009 in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Torkelson moved that the minutes of February 3, 2009 be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF250 (Knuth) Children protected from toxic chemicals in products

Chair Thissen took up HF250 for discussion.

Representative Murphy renewed her motion that HF250, as amended, be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Environment Policy and Oversight. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF434 (Laine) Doula services definition modified, and health care providers required to provide information on pain relief and medical interventions as part of prenatal care

Representative Laine moved that HF434 be recommended to pass and re-referred to General Register.

Representative Laine moved the A09-0017 amendment.

Representative Laine made an oral amendment to the A09-0017 amendment as follows

Page 1, line 1.5, delete semicolon and everything after semicolon
Page 1, line 1.6, delete

Representative Laine moved the A09-0017 amendment as amended. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Laine presented HF434 as amended.

Representative Laine renewed her motion that HF434, as amended, be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF359 (Norton) Autism spectrum disorders coverage required

Representative Norton moved that HF359 be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Committee on Commerce and Labor.

Representative Norton presented HF359.
