MINUTES


Representative Gene Pelowski, Chair of the State & Local Government Operations, Reform, Technology and Elections Committee, called the meeting to order at 8:30 A.M. on Wednesday, February 17, 2010, in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Poppe moved that the minutes of February 16, 2010, be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Chairman Pelowski moved that HF2866 be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Committee on Finance.

Representative Carlson presented HF2866 (Carlson), a bill for an act relating to state government; modifying authority of the executive branch to reduce unexpended allotments; amending Minnesota Statutes 2008, etc.

Testifying on HF2866:

Chairman Pelowski moved to amend HF2866 as follows:

Page 1, line 12, after the word "Representatives", insert "Finance Committee and"

THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Chairman Pelowski renewed the motion that HF2866, as amended, be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Finance. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Chairman Pelowski moved that HF2758 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Finance.

Representative Lillie presented HF2758 (Lillie), a bill for an act relating to state government; ratifying labor agreements and compensation plans.

Testifying on HF2758:

Chairman Pelowski renewed the motion that HF2758 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Finance. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Continuation of SF80, Third Engrossment (Simon), as amended (see attached S0080DE1 and S0080A1 adopted on 2/16/10).

Representative Simon moved that SF80, Third Engrossment, as amended, be recommended to pass and sent to the General Register.

Representative Simon moved to amend SF80, Third Engrossment, as amended (see attached S0080A2. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Gary Goldsmith, Executive Director, Campaign Finance and Public
Disclosure Board

Representative Simon renewed the motion that SF80, Third Engrossment, as amended, be recommended to pass and sent to the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
