MINUTES
Representative Gene Pelowski, Chair of the State & Local Government Operations, Reform, Technology and Elections Committee, called the meeting to order at 8:30 A.M. on Thursday, March 12, 2009, in Room 200 of the State Office Building.
The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.
Representative Poppe moved that the minutes of March 11, 2009, be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
Representative Hilty moved that HF1011 be recommended to pass and placed on the General Register.
Representative Hilty moved to amend HF1011 (see attached
H1011A1). THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.
Representative Hilty presented HF1011 (Hilty), as amended, a bill for an act relating to
elections; changing certain election administration provisions, etc.
Beth Fraser, Director of Governmental Affairs, Office of the Minnesota Secretary of State, provided an overview of HF1011, as amended.
Representative Morrow moved to amend HF1011, as amended, as follows:
Delete Section 10
THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.
Representative Gottwalt moved to amend HF1011, as amended, as follows:
Page 10, line 23, delete "either"

Page 10, line 24, delete "or" and insert "and"
Page 10, line 25, delete the period and add ", if one is available."
THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.
Representative Gottwalt moved amend HF1011, as amended, as follows:
Delete Section 19
THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.
HF1011, as amended, was laid over.
The meeting was adjourned at 10:00 A.M.
