MINUTES


Representative Mindy Greiling, Chair of the Committee, called the meeting to order at 2:10PM on January 27, 2010, in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.


HFXXXX(Sailer) A bill for an act relating to capital investment; appropriating money for a maximum effort loan to Red Lake School District.

Representative Sailer and Brent Gish, Superintendent, Red Lake School District, testified.


Rushford-Peterson School District Chuck Ehler, Superintendent, Rushford-Peterson School District, and Gary Olsen, Ehlers & Associates, Inc., provided an overview of Rushford-Peterson School District’s bonding request.

Tim Strom, House Research, provided an overview of the Cooperative Facilities Grant Program.


HFXXXX (Dittrich) A bill for an act relating to capital investment; appropriating money for a public schools fiber optic infrastructure grant program.

Representative Dittrich and Patrick Plant, Director of Technology, Anoka-Hennepin School District, testified.


HFXXXX (Fritz) A bill for an act relating to capital investment; appropriating money for capital improvements at the Minnesota State Academies.

Representative Fritz, Linda Mitchell, Superintendent, Minnesota State Academies, and Karen Snorek, Vice President of Finance, South Central College, testified.


HF2547 (Winkler) A bill for an act relating to capital investment; authorizing spending to acquire and better public land and buildings and other improvements of a capital nature; appropriating money for improvements to the Perpich Center for Arts and Education.

Representative Winkler and Susan Mackert, Board Chair, Perpich Center for Arts Education, testified.


The meeting adjourned at 3:55PM.
