HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES EIGHTY-SIXTH SESSION
K-12 EDUCATION FINANCE DIVISION/TAXES
Representative Mindy Greiling, Chair of the Committee, called the meeting to order at 2:50PM on January 26, 2009, in Room 10 of the State Office Building.
Committee Legislative Assistant Elizabeth Mandelman noted the roll.

Representative Greiling, Chair of the K-12 Education Finance Division, gave an introduction to the purpose of this meeting.
Rebecca Otto, State Auditor, State of Minnesota, provided an overview of Other Post Employment Benefits (OPEB).
Jody Hauer, Evaluator, Office of the Legislative Auditor, presented "Postemployment Benefits for Public Employees."
Audrey Bombstad, Budgets Payments Sp Ed Fiscal Monitoring Facilities Supervisor. Minnesota Department of Education, provided information on OPED bond issuance in the state of Minnesota.
Thomas Wieczorek, Business Manager, Alexandria Public Schools provided an overview of the impact OPEB bonds have had on Alexandria Public Schools.
Les Fujitoke, Superintendent, Bloomington Public Schools, provided an overview of the impact OPEB bonds have had on Bloomington Public Schools.
Tim Strom, Tim Strom, House Legislative Analyst and Greg Crowe, House Fiscal Analyst
Greg Crowe, and Joel Michael, House Legislative Analyst, answered questions regarding OPEB.
The meeting was adjourned at 4:15PM.
