Representative Carlson, Chair of the Finance Committee, called the meeting to order at
8:08 A.M. on Monday, March 22, 2010, in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

Chair Carlson moved adoption of the Higher Education and Workforce Development Finance Division Report for HF2499, First Committee Engrossment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE DIVISION REPORT WAS ADOPTED.

Chair Carlson moved that HF2499, First Committee Engrossment be recommended to pass and placed on the General Register.

Rep. Mullery presented HF2499, First Committee Engrossment (Mullery) Minnesota State Colleges and Universities Board of Trustees required to study technical education credentials.

JoAnn Simser, State Director, Minnesota Career and Technical Education, Minnesota State Colleges and Universities (MnSCU) testified on HF249, First committee Engrossment

Chair Carlson renewed the motion that HF2499, First Committee Engrossment be recommended to pass and placed on General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Rep. Kahn moved adoption of the State Government Finance Division Report for HF 2899, First Committee Engrossment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE DIVISION REPORT WAS ADOPTED.

Rep. Pelowski moved that HF2899, First Committee Engrossment be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Ways and Means.

Rep. Pelowski moved to amend HF2899, First Committee Engrossment. (See attached amendment H2899A8). THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Rep. Pelowski presented HF2899, First Committee Engrossment, as amended (Pelowski) Administrative remedy provided for certain data practice law violations, civil penalty provided, and money appropriated.

Rep. Pelowski renewed the motion that HF2899, First Committee Engrossment, as amended, be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Ways and Means. THE MOTION PREVAILED.


Rep. Murphy, M. moved approval of the minutes of Friday, March 12, 2010. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE MINUTES WERE APPROVED.
