Representative Ann Lenczewski, Chair of the Committee, called the meeting to order at 9:23 P.M. on April 21, 2008 in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Before the committee was HF4062.

HF4062-Nelson-Tax refund provided on fuel used in certain auxiliary power devices.

The following person testified on HF4062: Jeremy Estenson, Minnesota Trucking Association.

A quorum was present.

Representative Marquart moved HF4062 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus Tax Bill.

Representative Marquart moved amendment H4062A1 (ATTACHED). THE MOTION PREVAILED, THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

HF 4062 was laid over as amended for possible inclusion in the Omnibus Tax Bill.

Representative Carlson moved HF3399 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus Tax Bill.

HF3399-Brynaert-Mankato; Sales and use tax extension authorized, revenue use modified, and local tax imposition authorized.

Representative Carlson moved amendment H3399A2 (ATTACHED). THE MOTION PREVAILED, THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

The following people testified on HF3399: Pat Hentges, City Manager, Mankato; Jonathan Zierdt, President and CEO, Greater Mankato Growth Inc.

HF3399 was laid over as amended for possible inclusion in the Omnibus Tax Bill.

Representative Lenczewski moved HF3590 be recommended to pass.

HF3590-Wagenius-Ground water monitoring charge established.

Representative Lenczewski moved amendment H3590A1 (ATTACHED). THE MOTION PREVAILED, THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Lenczewski renewed her motion that HF3590 be recommended to pass as amended. THE MOTION PREVAILED, THE BILL PASSED AS AMENDED.

Representative Tillberry moved HF3395 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus Tax Bill.

HF3395-Tillberry-Light rail transit vehicle and repair parts exemption modified and expanded to Northstar Corridor rail project, and Central and Northstar Corridor construction purchases exempted for materials and supplies.

The following people testified on HF3395: Dan Erhart, Commissioner, Anoka County; Jim McDonough, Commissioner, Ramsey County; Peter McLaughlin, Commissioner, Hennepin County.

HF3395 was laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus Tax Bill.

Representative Lenczewski moved HF3119 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus Tax Bill.

HF3119-Howes-Propane-fueled school vehicle purchases exemption provided.

Representative Lenczewski moved amendment H3119A1 (ATTACHED). THE MOTION PREVAILED, THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

HF3119 was laid over as amended for possible inclusion in the Omnibus Tax Bill.
