MINUTES


Representative Ann Lenczewski, Chair of the Committee, called the meeting to order at 10:08 A.M. on Tuesday, February 26, 2008, in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

The following people testified on behalf of HF3149: John Haugen, of the Minnesota Department of Revenue; Susan Barry, Minnesota Department of Revenue; Pat Finnegan, Minnesota Department of Revenue; Lance Staricha, Minnesota Department of Revenue, Joan Tujetsch, Minnesota Department of Revenue; Mark Pederson, Minnesota Department of Revenue; Jack Mansun, Minnesota Department of Revenue.

A quorum was present.

Representative Lenczewski moved HF3149 be recommended to be laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus Tax Bill.

HF3149-Lenczewski- Tax provisions, government data practices, and debt collection provisions modified; and job opportunity building zone requirements compliance provided.


Representative Lenczewski moved amendment A08-1137 (ATTACHED). THE MOTION PREVAILED-THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Lenczewski moved amendment A08-1140 (ATTACHED). THE MOTION PREVAILED-THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Lenczewski renewed her motion that HF3149 be recommended to be laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus Tax Bill.

Before the committee was HF2163.

HF2163-Hortman- Sales tax base expanded and rate reduced, low income tax credit provided, and money appropriated.

The following people testified on HF2163: Dr. Paul Wilson, Minnesota Department of Revenue.

Representative Erhardt moved the minutes from February 20, 2008. THE MOTION PREVAILED-THE MINUTES WERE APPROVED.

Representative Erhardt moved HF2551 be recommended to be laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus Tax Bill.

Representative Erhardt moved amendment H2551A1 (ATTACHED). THE MOTION PREVAILED-THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

The following people testified against HF2551: Buzz Anderson, Minnesota Retailers Association; Alyssa Schlander, Minnesota Auto Dealers Association.
