MINUTES



Representative Mullery, Chair of the Committee, called the meeting to order at 1:38 P.M. on Monday, February 18, 2008, in Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

HF 2553 (Winkler): A bill for an act relating to state government; creating a catastrophe survivor compensation fund; appropriating money; amending Minnesota Statutes 2006, section 13.635, by adding a subdivision; proposing coding for new law as Minnesota Statutes, chapter 8A.

Representative Bigham moved HF 2553 before the committee.

Representative Winkler presented his bill.

Testifying for the bill:
Chris Messerly, pro bono attorney for I-35W bridge survivors

Representative Emmer moved adoption of the A5 amendment. MOTION WITHDRAWN.

Representative Bigham moved that HF 2553 be recommended to pass, and when so passed, be re-referred to the Committee on Commerce and Labor. MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Cornish moved approval of the Minutes for March 13, 2007, March 14, 2007, and March 19, 2007. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

The meeting was adjourned at 2:32 P.M.
