MINUTES


Representative Lieder, Chair of the Division, called the meeting to order at 4:07 P.M. on Thursday, February 22, 2007, in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present. Rep. Severson moved that the minutes of Thursday, February 15, and Tuesday, February 20, 2007 be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 667 Simon
Rep. Hornstein moved adoption of the Transportation and Transit Policy Subcommittee report on HF 667. THE MOTION PREVAILED. Rep. Hornstein moved that HF 667 pass and be rereferred to the Finance Committee. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
HF 539 Junke
Rep. Hornstein moved adoption of the Transportation and Transit Policy Subcommittee report on HF 539. THE MOTION PREVAILED. Rep. Hornstein moved that HF 539 pass and be rereferred to the Finance Committee. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
HF 105/SF 122 Hortman
Rep. Hornstein moved adoption of the Transportation and Transit Policy Subcommittee report on HF 105. THE MOTION PREVAILED. Rep. Hortman moved that SF 122 be substituted for HF 105. THE MOTION PREVAILED. Gail Weinholzer, Director of Public Affairs, AAA and Katherine Burke Moore, Deputy Director, Office of Traffic Safety, Department of Public Safety assisted Rep. Hortman in presenting the bill. Rep. Hortman moved the S0122A1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. Rep. Lieder moved that SF 122, as amended, be recommended to pass and be rereferred to the Committee on Finance with a recommended rerefferal to Public Safety and Civil Justice. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
HF 612 Pelowski
Lorrie Louder, St. Paul Port Authority and Kevin Walli, Counsel, MN Ports Association assisted Rep. Pelowski in presenting the bill. HF 612 was laid over for possible inclusion in the Transportation Finance Omnibus bill.
HF 693 Lesch
Travis Schwantes, Assistant Public Defender, 10th Judicial District, Anoka, assisted Rep. Lesch in presenting HF 693. Rep. Lieder moved H0693A1. Rep. Lieder moved to amend H0693A1 as follows: delete lines 1.5 through 1.12. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

THE MOTION PREVAILED. Pat McCormack Department of Vehicle Services, Department of Public Safety, MnDOT answered questions regarding HF 693. Rep. Lieder moved that HF 693 be recommended to pass, as amended, and be rereferred to the Committee on Finance with a recommended rereferral to the Committee on Public Safety and Civil Justice. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
