MINUTES
Representative Mary Murphy, Chair, called the fourth meeting to order at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, February 12, 2007 in Room 5 of the State Office Building.
The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Chair Murphy called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m.
A quorum was present at 4:05 p.m.
Alice Seagren of Roseville, Commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Education, testified to the foundation of the P-16 Program.
Dr. Robert Bruininks of Minneapolis, President of the University of Minnesota, testified to the functions and need for the P-16 Program.
Dr. Linda Baer of Saint Paul, Senior Vice Chancellor of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities, testified to the history and development of the P-16 Program.
Commissioner Seagren testified to the commitment of those involved with the P-16 Program, the data tracking methods used by the P-16 Program, the college access programs associated with the P-16 Program, the ongoing remediation study, the revision of state standards, and the use and development of career planning websites.
Dr. Susan Heegaard of Saint Paul, Director of the Minnesota Office of Higher Education, testified to her involvement with the Student ID Workgroup which she led.
Dr. Geoffrey Maruyama of Minneapolis, Assistant Vice President of the University of Minnesota, testified to Rep. Heidgerken's questions about the remediation study.
