MINUTES


Representative Holberg, Chair of the Transportation Finance Committee, called the Twenty-fourth meeting to order at 12:30 P.M. on Thursday April 21, 2005, in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Clerk noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Representative Lieder moved approval of the April 19, 2005 Transportation Finance Committee Meeting Minutes. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE MINUTES WERE APPROVED.

HF2086 (Beard) Metropolitan Council and Metropolitan Airports Commission residency requirements modified, Bloomington mayor included on the commission, term limits imposed, nominating committee created, and report required.

Representative Holberg took HF2086 from the table.

Representative Holberg moved HF2086 be passed and re-referred to the Committee on Rules.

Representative Holberg moved Amendment A05-0665 (see attached). THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Beard presented HF2086.

Representative Holberg renewed her motion that HF2086, as amended, be passed and re-referred to the Committee on Rules. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF2461 (Holberg) Omnibus transportation finance bill providing funding for transportation, Metropolitan Council, and public safety; issuing bonds; modifying vehicle plate and tax provisions; appropriating money; and proposing constitutional amendments.

Representative Holberg moved HF2461 be passed and re-referred to the Committee on Taxes.

Representative Holberg discussed HF2461.

Representative Erhardt moved Amendment A05-0580 (see attached).

Representative Erhardt incorporated the following verbal amendments to A05-0580:

Page 1 line 1, delete 1152 and insert 2461.
Page 1 line 2, replace “74” with “77”
Page 1 line 2, replace “21” with “3.”

Representative Erhardt renewed his motion that Amendment A05-0580, as amended, be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.
