1.3    "Sec. 4. Minnesota Statutes 2012, section 168.128, subdivision 3, is amended to read:
1.4    Subd. 3. Insurance. (a) The application must include a certificate of insurance
1.5verifying that a valid commercial insurance policy is in effect and giving the name of the
1.6insurance company and the number of the insurance policy. The policy must provide
1.7stated limits of liability, exclusive of interest and costs, with respect to each motor vehicle
1.8for which coverage is granted, of:
1.9(1) not less than $100,000 $1,500,000 because of bodily injury to one person in any
1.10one accident; and, subject to that limit for one person, of not less than $300,000 because
1.11of injury to two or more persons in any one accident
1.12(2) not less than the minimum aggregate amount required under section 65B.135
1.13per accident; and of
1.14(3) not less than $100,000 because of injury to or destruction of property.
1.15(b) The insurance company must notify the commissioner if the policy is canceled or
1.16if the policy no longer provides the coverage required by this subdivision.
1.17(b) (c) The commissioner shall immediately notify the commissioner of
1.18transportation if the policy of a person required to have a permit under section 221.84 is
1.19canceled or no longer provides the coverage required by this subdivision.
1.20EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective July 1, 2014, and applies to coverage
1.21issued or renewed on or after that date."
