1.3    "Sec. 2. ADDITIONAL SUPPLEMENTAL AID REVISION FOR OMITTED
1.42013 INDEPENDENT NONPROFIT FIREFIGHTING CORPORATIONS.
1.5(a) Notwithstanding any provision of Minnesota Statutes, chapter 423A, to the
1.6contrary, this section modifies the allocation of the police and fire supplemental retirement
1.7state aid under Minnesota Statutes 2013 Supplement, section 423A.022, for October
1.81, 2014.
1.9(b) Before the allocation of the police and fire supplemental retirement state aid is
1.10made for October 1, 2014, the commissioner of revenue shall:
1.11(1) determine those fire departments that qualified for fire state aid under Minnesota
1.12Statutes 2012, section 69.021, subdivision 7, on October 1, 2013, did not receive a 2013
1.13allocation of police and fire supplemental retirement state aid, and were an independent
1.14nonprofit firefighting corporation; and
1.15(2) determine the amount of police and fire supplemental retirement state aid
1.16under Minnesota Statutes 2013 Supplement, section 423A.022, that the fire departments
1.17described in clause (2) would have received on October 1, 2013, if the fire departments
1.18had been included in that allocation.
1.19(c) The total amount determined in paragraph (b), clause (2), must be deducted from
1.20the amount available for allocation under Minnesota Statutes 2013 Supplement, section
1.21423A.022, subdivision 2, clause (2), and the commissioner of revenue shall pay to the fire
1.22departments determined in paragraph (b), clause (1), their respective portion of the total as
1.23an additional payment on October 1, 2014.
1.24(d) The remaining amount after the deduction of the total amount under paragraph
1.25(c) must be allocated as provided in section 1."
