1.3Page 56, after line 27, insert:

1.4    "Sec. 3. Minnesota Statutes 2013 Supplement, section 120B.024, subdivision 2,
1.5is amended to read:
1.6    Subd. 2. Credit equivalencies. (a) A one-half credit of economics taught in a
1.7school's agriculture education or business department may fulfill a one-half credit in
1.8social studies under subdivision 1, clause (5), if the credit is sufficient to satisfy all of the
1.9academic standards in economics.
1.10    (b) An agriculture science or career and technical education credit may fulfill the
1.11credit in chemistry or physics or the elective science credit required under subdivision 1,
1.12clause (4), if the credit meets the state chemistry or physics, or district biology academic
1.13standards or a combination of these academic standards as approved by the district. A
1.14student must satisfy either all of the chemistry academic standards or all of the physics
1.15academic standards prior to graduation. An agriculture science or career and technical
1.16education credit may not fulfill the required biology credit under subdivision 1, clause (4).
1.17    (c) A career and technical education credit may fulfill a mathematics or arts credit
1.18requirement under subdivision 1, clause (2) or (6).
1.19(d) An agriculture education teacher is not required to meet the requirements of
1.20Minnesota Rules, part 3505.1150, subpart 1, item B, to meet the credit equivalency
1.21requirements of paragraph (b) above.
1.22(e) An advanced placement computer science course may fulfill a mathematics or
1.23science credit requirement under subdivision 1, clause (2) or (4).
1.24EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective for the 2014-2015 school year and
1.25later."
1.26Renumber the sections in sequence and correct the internal references
1.27Amend the title accordingly
