1.3    "Sec. ... [144.1225] ADVANCED DIAGNOSTIC IMAGING SERVICES.
1.4    Subdivision 1. Definition. For purposes of this section, "advanced diagnostic
1.5imaging services" means services entailing the use of diagnostic magnetic resonance
1.6imaging (MRI) equipment, except that it does not include MRI equipment owned or
1.7operated by a hospital licensed under sections 144.50 to 144.56 or any facility affiliated
1.8with or owned by such hospital.
1.9    Subd. 2. Accreditation required. (a) Except as otherwise provided in paragraph
1.10(b), advanced diagnostic imaging services eligible for reimbursement from any source
1.11including, but not limited to, the individual receiving such services and any individual
1.12or group insurance contract, plan, or policy delivered in this state including, but not
1.13limited to, private health insurance plans, workers' compensation insurance, motor vehicle
1.14insurance, the State Employee Group Insurance Program (SEGIP), and other state health
1.15care programs shall be reimbursed only if the facility at which the service has been
1.16conducted and processed is accredited by one of the following entities:
1.17(1) American College of Radiology (ACR);
1.18(2) Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC); or
1.19(3) the joint commission.
1.20(b) Any facility that performs advanced diagnostic imaging services and is eligible
1.21to receive reimbursement for such services from any source in paragraph (a) must obtain
1.22accreditation by August 1, 2013. Thereafter, all facilities that provide advanced diagnostic
1.23imaging services in the state must obtain accreditation prior to commencing operations
1.24and must, at all times, maintain accreditation with an accrediting organization as provided
1.25in paragraph (a).
2.1    Subd. 3. Reporting. (a) Advanced diagnostic imaging facilities and providers
2.2of advanced diagnostic imaging services must annually report to the commissioner
2.3demonstration of accreditation as required under this section.
2.4(b) The commissioner may promulgate any rules necessary to administer the
2.5reporting required under paragraph (a)."
2.6Renumber the sections in sequence and correct the internal references
2.7Amend the title accordingly
