1.9    "Sec. 5. Minnesota Statutes 2010, section 256.01, is amended by adding a subdivision

1.11    Subd. 18e. Data sharing with the department of human services; multiple
1.12identification cards. (a) The commissioner of public safety shall, on a monthly basis,
1.13provide the commissioner of human services with the first, middle, and last name,
1.14the address, date of birth, and driver's license or state identification card number of all
1.15applicants and holders whose drivers' licenses and state identification cards have been
1.16canceled under section 171.14 by the commissioner of public safety.
1.17(b) The commissioner of human services shall compare the information provided
1.18under paragraph (a) with the commissioner's data regarding recipients of all public
1.19assistance programs managed by the department of human services to determine whether
1.20any person with multiple identification cards issued by the department of public safety
1.21has illegally or improperly enrolled in any public assistance program managed by the
1.22department of human services.
1.23(c) If the commissioner of human services determines that an applicant or recipient
1.24has illegally or improperly enrolled in any public assistance program, the commissioner
1.25shall provide all due process protections to the individual before terminating the individual
1.26from the program according to applicable statute, and notifying the county attorney.

2.1    Sec. 6. Minnesota Statutes 2010, section 256.01, is amended by adding a subdivision
2.2to read:
2.3    Subd. 18f. Data sharing with the department of human services; legal presence
2.4status. (a) The commissioner of public safety shall, on a monthly basis, provide the
2.5commissioner of human services with the first, middle, and last name, address, date of
2.6birth, and driver's license or state identification number of all applicants and holders of
2.7drivers' licenses and state identification cards whose temporary legal presence status has
2.8expired and whose driver's license or identification card has been canceled under section
2.9171.14 by the commissioner of public safety.
2.10(b) The commissioner of human services shall use the information provided under
2.11paragraph (a) to determine whether the eligibility of any recipients of public assistance
2.12programs managed by the department of human services has changed as a result of the
2.13status change in the department of public safety data.
2.14(c) If the commissioner of human services determines that a recipient has illegally or
2.15improperly received benefits from any public assistance program, the commissioner shall
2.16provide all due process protections to the individual before terminating the individual from
2.17the program according to applicable statute, and notifying the county attorney."
