1.3    "Subd. 19. Medical laboratory subspecialists. "Medical laboratory subspecialists"
1.4means individuals eligible for licensure under this chapter to perform subspecialty or
1.5esoteric functions of medical laboratory scientists in a clinical laboratory. The subspecialty
1.6and esoteric functions may be disease or medical specialty-oriented, or utilize advanced
1.7technology not routinely used in the clinical laboratory. These subspecialty and esoteric
1.8functions may be within subspecialized areas of hematology, chemistry, immunology,
1.9transfusion, medicine, genetics, or microbiology disciplines."
