1.1.................... moves to amend H. F. No. 3360 as follows:
1.2Delete everything after the enacting clause and insert:

1.3    "Section 1. DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS.
1.4    The amounts in this section are appropriated from the general fund to the
1.5commissioner of corrections in fiscal year 2008 for full and final payment under Minnesota
1.6Statutes, sections 3.738 and 3.739, of claims against the state for injuries suffered by
1.7and medical services provided to persons injured while performing community service
1.8or sentence-to-service work for correctional purposes or while incarcerated in a state
1.9correctional facility or for reimbursement of certain expenses. This appropriation is
1.10available until June 30, 2009.
1.11    (a) For sentence-to-service claims under $500 each and other claims already paid by
1.12the Department of Corrections, $3,737.15.
1.13    (b) For payment to Robert Burton for permanent injuries suffered while performing
1.14work at MCF-Moose Lake, $11,905.
1.15    (c) For payment to Minogheezhig Sandman-Shelifoe for expenses related to his
1.16challenge of and attempts to correct certain improper procedures at MCF-Rush City,
1.17$1,005.

1.18    Sec. 2. DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH.
1.19    $2,005 is appropriated from the general fund and $1,000 is appropriated from the
1.20petroleum tank release cleanup fund to the commissioner of health in fiscal year 2008 as
1.21full and final payment of the claim of Bernard D. and Nancy E. Baker, of Roseville,
1.22Minnesota, as reimbursement of costs related to a mistaken order to search for an unsealed
1.23well on their property. This appropriation is available until June 30, 2009.

1.24    Sec. 3. DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION.
1.25    $67,005 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner of transportation
1.26in fiscal year 2008 as full and final payment of the claim of John and Judith McEachran,
2.1of Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota, for costs related to restoration of their land. This
2.2appropriation is available until June 30, 2009. The commissioner of transportation is
2.3serving only as the fiscal agent of payment of this claim and payment of the claim is not an
2.4admission of liability on the part of the State of Minnesota for these costs.

2.5    Sec. 4. EFFECTIVE DATE.
2.6    Sections 1 to 3 are effective the day following final enactment."
