MINUTES

Representative Alice Hausman, Chair of the Housing Finance and Policy Committee, called the virtual meeting to order at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, February 16th, 2021 pursuant to House rule 10.01. The meeting was broadcast via Zoom and House Public Information Services.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Rep. Howard moved approval of the Minutes from Thursday, February 11th. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE MINUTES WERE ADOPTED.

Presentation on Naturally Occurring Affordable Housing (NOAH)

HF 443 (Howard) Appropriating money for loans and grants to preserver naturally occurring affordable housing.

Rep. Howard moved that HF 443 be laid over for possible inclusion.
Rep. Howard renewed his motion that HF 443 be laid over for possible inclusion. THE BILL WAS LAID OVER.

HF 1118 (Agbaje) Adding rehabilitation of naturally occurring affordable housing to allowable use of Housing Infrastructure Bonds.

Rep. Agbaje moved that HF 1118 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the committee on Capital Investment.

Rep. Agbaje renewed the motion that HF 1118 be passed and re-referred to the committee on Capital Investment. There being 13 Aye’s and 0 Nay’s, THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE BILL WAS RE-REFERRED.

HF 450 (Richardson) Providing for a right to counsel in certain public housing eviction actions.

Chair Hausman moved that HF 450 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the committee on Judiciary Finance and Civil Law.

Chair Hausman renewed the motion that HF 450 be recommended to pass and re-reffered to the committee on Judiciary Finance and Civil Law. There being 13 Aye’s and 0 Nay’s, THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE BILL WAS RE-REFERRED.

HF 567 (Fischer) Housing discrimination testing funding provided.

Chair Hausman moved that HF 567 be laid over for possible inclusion.

Chair Hausman moved the A-1 Author’s amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.
