HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES NINETY-SECOND SESSION
AGRICULTURE FINANCE AND POLICY COMMITTEE MINUTES

Representative Mike Sundin, Chair of the Agriculture Finance and Policy Committee, called the virtual meeting to order at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, March 2, 2022, pursuant to House rule 10.01. The meeting was broadcast via Zoom and House Public Information Services.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll. A quorum was present.

Rep. Thompson moved to approve adoption of the minutes of the previous meeting. The motion prevailed. The minutes from the February 28, 2022 meeting were adopted.

HF 3640 (N. Nelson) Meat and poultry processor training grant funding provided, and money appropriated.

Rep. Nelson moved that HF 3640 be laid over for possible inclusion in the supplemental omnibus bill.

Rep. Nelson moved the H3640A1 amendment. The motion prevailed. The amendment was adopted.

Chair Sundin laid over HF 3640, as amended, for possible inclusion the supplemental omnibus bill.

HF 3618 (Hansen, R.) University of Minnesota heritage oilseed and grain initiative funding provided, and money appropriated.

Rep. Hansen, R. moved that HF 3618 be laid over for possible inclusion in the supplemental omnibus bill.

Chair Sundin passed the virtual gavel and Vice Chair Vang assumed the Chair at 1:19 P.M.

Rep. Hansen, R. renewed his motion, and HF 3618 was laid over for possible inclusion the supplemental omnibus bill.

MN Department of Agriculture provided an overview of the Agricultural Chemical Response and Reimbursement Account (ACRRA) Report

HF1886 (Backer) Agricultural chemical response and reimbursement account maximum allowable reimbursement increased.

Rep. Anderson moved that HF 1886 be laid over for possible inclusion in the supplemental omnibus bill.

Rep. Backer explained HF 1886.
